It almost felt like every step of the way there was a new complication, but it should be smoother from now on.
The two big hurdles were getting the particles to follow the spline in an aesthetically pleasing way, and getting the spiraling to work at all. Right now, they're another actor, that's spawning particles at it's position, and that's following the spline, using parenting to move the particles.
